19 Week Bumpdate

Saturday, August 27, 2016

Hey friends! I've totally been slack this week on blogging and I am a little late on my bumpdate, but all I've wanted to do after work is to come home and sleep!

How far along? 19 weeks (a few days late)

Baby's size? A zesty zucchini.

Gender: Girl

Total weight gain/loss: 8 pounds.

Maternity clothes? Nope. A lot of them have been purchased but I'm still rockin' all of my non-maternity pants, shirts, dresses.

Sleep: I haven't had any problems so far! I do have a snuggle so I'm wondering when I will need to start using it.

Best moment this week: Andrew told me that he could finally see a little bump! You can't really tell in person (especially with clothes on), but I think this was the first week he noticed it. Also, I started our registries this week and I will be sharing some of that soon and getting your input!

Miss Anything? Spicy tuna rolls.

Movement: I don't think so, but I do get pains/motion in my stomach so I'm not sure if that is her moving or just stuff going on down there…any ideas?

Food cravings: Still loving grape crystal light but I haven't really had a ton of cravings.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Holy heartburn. It really starts in the late afternoon and I haven't really taken any tums yet because I wanted to check with my doctor first, but it's been so bad that it doesn't go away until I fall asleep at night. Hoping this means one thing…that baby E will have a lot of hair!

Symptoms: See above.

Looking forward to: Our 20 week anatomy scan this coming week and heading to Auburn for the Clemson football game! I never thought the time would come and I am so excited! Although, I will be DD and the only wife tagging along…but I'm okay with that as long as I get to see the Tiger's play!

18 Week Bumpdate

Thursday, August 18, 2016

Photo taken by Olive and Tate while at Pebble Beach

How far along? 18 weeks today.

Baby's size? The size of a sweet potato…and I can't say I've been craving those. Whoops.

Gender: Sweet baby GIRL. See our gender reveal here

Total weight gain/loss: Roughly 7 pounds but my belly is beginning to poke out a little!

Maternity clothes? Not yet. My mother in law, sister in law and I are going maternity shopping this weekend so I'm excited about that!

Sleep: Sleeping well but wake up a little sore.

Best moment this week: Going to California for a quick vacation. Hoping to do a re-cap soon.

Miss Anything? Still a cold turkey sandwich and red wine. We went to Napa while in California and let's just say that it wasn't easy watching everyone drink wine in freaking wine country.

Movement: No movements but stretching is definitely taking place.

Food cravings: Anything pickled … pickles, pickled okra, etc. Oh, and grape crystal light. Obsessed.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Not this week.

Symptoms: I am so itchy! Mainly my belly because it is starting to grow but I've been lathering up with cocoa butter and oil every morning and evening so that is helping. Still have afternoon heartburn.

Looking forward to: Heading to Charlotte this weekend to "pamper" myself aka maternity shop, mani/pedi and totally veg out with my MIL and SIL. They are so sweet to sweep me away so that I can enjoy a relaxing weekend that is all about me.

Stephanie was gracious enough to host our gender reveal at her house so be sure to check out her post with pictures of the party!

17 Week Bumpdate

Wednesday, August 10, 2016

Hey y'all! I hope you're having a great week so far! I wanted to post my weekly bumpdate before leaving on vacation so I hope you enjoy! I'll be taking the rest of the week off but will be back next week.

How far along? I will be 17 weeks tomorrow!

Baby's size? The size of a dill pickle...and man, have I been loving pickles lately! I can thank Meg for getting me hooked on the Oh Snap hottie bites.

Gender: Sweet baby GIRL. See our gender reveal here

Total weight gain/loss: Still in the 5-7 pound range. My weight definitely fluctuates!

Maternity clothes? Nope. I ended up buying quite a few fall pieces from the Nordstrom Sale so I'm excited for those...lots of baggy sweaters and leggings!

Sleep: The same. No vivid dreams yet.

Best moment this week: Celebrating our baby girl this past weekend with family and closest friends.

Miss Anything? A cold turkey sandwich.

Movement: Nope. I am hoping that comes soon!

Food cravings: Fried okra. So random but it is my favorite vegetable. I made a large bowl for dinner last night and had rice and black beans to go with it. It's so simple but so yummy.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Raw chicken, gross.

Symptoms: I have a serious head cold right now (not pregnancy related) but I have felt terrible for the past few days. And, I've started getting heartburn lately and it's driving me crazy. I thought the second trimester was supposed to be easier than the first?

Looking forward to: We are headed to California with Andrew, Stephanie and Justin! We leave bright and early tomorrow morning. It will be nice to have a few days off since I'm not really taking a week long vacation this summer. Follow me on snapchat @ashleyceck

Gender Reveal...It's A…

Sunday, August 7, 2016

We are so thankful for all of our family and friends who came out to celebrate in our special day finding out whether Baby E is a boy or girl.

I did a gender prediction on Friday and the score was very close. Boy won by 1 point.

I'm not going to lie. Prior to getting pregnant, I always thought I'd have a girl first. I can't exactly explain why I had that feeling but as soon as I got pregnant, that feeling changed. I had a gut feeling it was a boy. Easy first trimester, craving salty foods, everything pointed to boy for me.

What you've all been waiting for….Baby E is a …

We are beyond thrilled and maybe still in a little shock that we are having a sweet baby GIRL. I know that this little girl is going to completely steal Andrew's (and my) heart and that she will totally think he hung the moon. I am so excited to watch them together and see Andrew's heart melt as we both swoon over her.

Let all of the bows and tutu shopping begin! Andrew actually bought me a gift card to a local clothing store in Greenville for our anniversary and we woke up this morning and he suggested we go pick out some clothes for Baby E this morning. That just lit up my heart.

We received our first present yesterday that Stephanie presented us with…her first custom Willow Crowns piece made by my dear friend, Megan. Thank you ladies for her sweet gift! She can't wait to be a loyal customer!

Thank you again to Stephanie and Justin for hosting our special party!

Old Wives Tales Gender Prediction

Thursday, August 4, 2016

I can't tell you how excited I am to find out what baby E is! It was so fun seeing our babe on the ultrasound screen yesterday. I honestly get butterflies every time I see him/her. The baby is beginning to get little features and I just get so giddy.

I've seen these gender prediction tests floating around the blog world so I thought I'd put them to the test and then report back to y'all once we find out this weekend!

Alright, here we go…

Sleep Position
Pay attention to which way you lay down in bed tonight. If you prefer sleeping on your left side, you'll have a boy. Right side? You're pregnant with a girl.

BOY - I have always favored my left side and this hasn't changed since I got pregnant

Upset Stomach
Little girls aren't always sweet. Nausea means you are having a daughter.

BOY - I haven't really felt any nausea throughout my pregnancy.

Soft or Dry Hands
If your hands are dry during pregnancy, you are having a boy; soft - expect a girl.

BOY - My hands have gotten so dry and I have been having to constantly put lotion on them.

Food Cravings
Your favorite pregnancy foods may tell you what sex the baby is. If you're craving citrus while pregnant, you'e having a girl.

GIRL - I have been loving peaches, apples and lemons

Adult Acne
If altering hormones make your skin break out, expect a girl.

BOY - I've always had pretty clear skin and this hasn't changed since getting pregnant

Graceful or Clumsy Pregnancy
If you feel as though you're gliding through the day, you'll have a girl. Stumbling? It's a boy.

GIRL - I haven't noticed any differences in my balance.

Face Weight gain
If your face gets fuller, it means you're having a girl.

BOY - it looks the same to me. Not to say it isn't full…but it hasn't changed since I got pregnant.

Sugar and Spice Food Cravings
Craving salt during pregnancy? Potato chips, pretzels and popcorn means a boy is on the way. Need a little something sweet? Ice cream, chocolate, and candy means you're having an girl.

BOY - I've always been a salty person and haven't loved sweets so that's pretty much stayed the same. However, I definitely love some frozen yogurt every now and then!

Mood Changes
If you're experiencing pregnant mood-swings, expect a baby girl to arrive soon.

BOY - My mood hasn't really changed. Don't get me wrong, I'll have my moments (just ask my husband), but it's been pretty normal.

Baby Weight
If you're carrying baby in front, it's a boy. Is the baby weight spaced all around your middle? It's a girl.

GIRL - I'm still really not showing yet but my belly just looks bigger overall.

Model Your Hands
"Show me your hands." If you would hold your hands palms up, it's a girl. Down? You're having a boy.

GIRL - I just tried this out and palms up.

Even and Odd Numbers
If your age and year of conception are both even or odd, it's a girl. One even, one odd means a boy.

GIRL - 28 and year of conception was 2016

Baby's Heartbeat
If the baby's heart beats more than 150 times per minute, you're pregnant with a girl. Less than 150, it's a boy.

GIRL - It's been up and down but the highest has been 171 and the lowest (Wednesday) was 151 so it's kind of a toss up! Although, I asked the sonographer today and she said she doesn't believe this is an accurate test.

Stress Test
A child tends to be of the same sex as the parent who is less stressed at the time of conception.

GIRL - This is a tough one. I am usually the more stressed one in the relationship, but Andrew's father passed weeks before conception so I might think he was more stressed than me during that certain time period.

Dream Meanings
If you dream about having a girl while pregnant, you will wind up having a boy and vice versa.

I haven't had any crazy dreams yet and actually, none of them have been related to the baby!

Breast Size
If you're right breast is larger than the left while pregnant, you're having a girl. If the left is larger, it's a boy.

BOY - basically starting at like week 6, I told Andrew that I thought my left breast was larger and that hasn't changed.

Let's tally them up and see what my score is!

BOY - 8
GIRL - 7

I honestly didn't think it was going to be this close! We will have our gender reveal party this weekend and I'll be checking back in (most likely Sunday night) to share whether Baby E is a boy or girl!

What are your predictions? If you've done this test before, were any of them right?

16 Week Bumpdate

Wednesday, August 3, 2016

I am so excited to finally post my first bumpdate! I feel like I've tortured Andrew into taking pictures pretty much since we found out we were pregnant and I finally get to post one!

How far along? I will be 16 weeks tomorrow!

Baby's size? My app says the size of an avocado.

Gender: We find out this Saturday!

Total weight gain/loss: I've gained about 7 pounds. I feel like I might be starting to pop a little. There is definitely some stretching going on but it just looks like fat right now!

Maternity clothes? Nope, not yet. Since it is so hot here in South Carolina, I've been wearing tons of flowy dresses. I'll occasionally wear pants to work and they still fit pretty normal.

Sleep: Totally normal and let's pray that continues! I haven't had any crazy dreams that I thought I might have by now.

Best moment this week: Our quick view gender reveal ultrasound today! We are having a gender reveal party this weekend so we had the tech seal that envelope up and I'll be hand delivering it to Steph who is in charge of keeping it a secret until the party!

Miss Anything? Not really! Although, it was hard watching Andrew and our friends enjoy a nice bottle of wine last night at Andrew's birthday dinner. I will say though, I have not missed alcohol during my pregnancy. I don't "crave" it and am totally fine without it. I probably miss the social aspect of it more than anything but I've been getting fancy with my mocktails so I am perfectly happy with that!

Movement: Not yet. When I wake up in the mornings, I feel something in my lower belly but I think it is my belly just starting to stretch out. My sonographer told me that my placenta is positioned in an anterior location so it may take longer for me to feel movements compared to other women.

Food cravings: I haven't had any true cravings so to speak, but once I get something in my head…I've got to have it for my next meal! It is not specific foods but if Mexican food sounds good, then I can't get it out of my head until I have it. Is that weird?

Anything making you queasy or sick? No.

Symptoms: I seriously had the easiest first trimester. No nausea, no sickness, no acne, etc. I am obviously tired but I think that is just normal. I was a very tired person before I even got pregnant so I can't even call that a symptom! I will say that I started getting afternoon heartburn but it doesn't usually last too long.

Looking forward to: Finding out if baby E is a girl or boy this weekend and seeing our family and closest friends.

I will be sharing my gender prediction and wives tales tomorrow so be sure to check back in!

Thank you and Chesson's Wedding Sneak Peak

Monday, August 1, 2016

First of all, I want to thank you so much for all of the sweet comments, texts and calls over our special news that I shared last week. We are beyond thrilled and just can't believe that we are finally pregnant and carrying a healthy baby!

And, we go in for our gender reveal ultrasound on Wednesday!! We will have the tech seal that big surprise in an envelope and open it up with our family and closest friends this weekend.

I am planning on doing a wives tale gender prediction to see what we all think it is so keep in tune later this week!

On to other exciting news, I had the honor to stand by one of my closest friends, former college roommate and blogger friend this past weekend on her wedding day. Anyone recognize her? Yes, that is Chesson from Magnolia and Main. She looked absolutely gorgeous and we just had the best weekend. From the bridal brunch to the rehearsal dinner to getting ready to the actual reception, everything was planned out to perfection.

I mean, how gorgeous is she?

We had such a fun and intimate brunch at Di Prato's on Friday for her bridal lunch. Lots of stories and loved shared.

Her in-laws threw one heck of a rehearsal dinner. Andrew and I both left both agreeing that it was easily one of the bet rehearsal dinners we've ever been to. The attention to detail went without being noticed and was so unique to the couple and just so very personalized. There were lots of embarrassing stories told and we just laughed the entire night away.

The bride didn't want to leave me out while getting hair and makeup done so I was able to partake in a bellini or two as well….well, kind of.

Our sweet college friend, Lindsey, and I before walking down the aisle.

The Berkley roommates.

Extremely blurry but loved this shot of them leaving.

Chesson and Patrick, thank you for allowing Baby E and me to be a part of your wedding day and share all of the special memories from the best day of your life. Love y'all!
