16 Week Bumpdate

Wednesday, August 3, 2016

I am so excited to finally post my first bumpdate! I feel like I've tortured Andrew into taking pictures pretty much since we found out we were pregnant and I finally get to post one!

How far along? I will be 16 weeks tomorrow!

Baby's size? My app says the size of an avocado.

Gender: We find out this Saturday!

Total weight gain/loss: I've gained about 7 pounds. I feel like I might be starting to pop a little. There is definitely some stretching going on but it just looks like fat right now!

Maternity clothes? Nope, not yet. Since it is so hot here in South Carolina, I've been wearing tons of flowy dresses. I'll occasionally wear pants to work and they still fit pretty normal.

Sleep: Totally normal and let's pray that continues! I haven't had any crazy dreams that I thought I might have by now.

Best moment this week: Our quick view gender reveal ultrasound today! We are having a gender reveal party this weekend so we had the tech seal that envelope up and I'll be hand delivering it to Steph who is in charge of keeping it a secret until the party!

Miss Anything? Not really! Although, it was hard watching Andrew and our friends enjoy a nice bottle of wine last night at Andrew's birthday dinner. I will say though, I have not missed alcohol during my pregnancy. I don't "crave" it and am totally fine without it. I probably miss the social aspect of it more than anything but I've been getting fancy with my mocktails so I am perfectly happy with that!

Movement: Not yet. When I wake up in the mornings, I feel something in my lower belly but I think it is my belly just starting to stretch out. My sonographer told me that my placenta is positioned in an anterior location so it may take longer for me to feel movements compared to other women.

Food cravings: I haven't had any true cravings so to speak, but once I get something in my head…I've got to have it for my next meal! It is not specific foods but if Mexican food sounds good, then I can't get it out of my head until I have it. Is that weird?

Anything making you queasy or sick? No.

Symptoms: I seriously had the easiest first trimester. No nausea, no sickness, no acne, etc. I am obviously tired but I think that is just normal. I was a very tired person before I even got pregnant so I can't even call that a symptom! I will say that I started getting afternoon heartburn but it doesn't usually last too long.

Looking forward to: Finding out if baby E is a girl or boy this weekend and seeing our family and closest friends.

I will be sharing my gender prediction and wives tales tomorrow so be sure to check back in!
