22 Week Bumpdate

Sunday, September 18, 2016

Sundays are probably one of my favorite days of the week, but I hate it once it gets late and I suddenly remember I have to go to work in the morning. But, we had a great weekend celebrating a 59-0 Clemson win, shopping for a crib for our sweet babe and finishing the weekend off with a big plate of lasagna.

How far along? 22 weeks, 3 days

Baby's size? Corn on the cob

Gender: All girl.

Total weight gain/loss: About 8-9 pounds.

Maternity clothes? No, just flowy dresses and tops for now. I am still able to button up my normal pants but might invest in a belly band this week because they are starting to get a little tight.

Sleep: I am sleeping well but toss and turn a little more than usual. My back has been hurting when I wake up and it's probably from moving so much.

Best moment this week: Andrew felt her move for the first time! It was really sweet although he was probably a little freaked out at first. Also, trying to finish up our baby registry. We went baby furniture shopping today to get ideas and I think we are off to a great start!

Miss Anything? Not really that I can think of except maybe a cocktail now that football has started, but I really haven't missed it that much.

Movement: Yes! I feel her mostly when laying down but she'll startle me once in a a while during the day. It was really special for Andrew to feel her move for the first time this week.

Food cravings: Soup. I've really enjoyed soup lately although it's still 90 degrees outside. Especially spicy chicken tortilla…yum!

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope, can't really complain.

Symptoms: I've gotten two really bad cramps in my left leg (calf) this week, and it still hurts to be honest. I woke up early early Saturday morning almost in tears and Andrew was sweet and got up and rubbed it out for me but it's still in pain. I drink a ton of water and take all of my vitamins but I'm going to see if extra potassium helps.

Looking forward to: Trying to finalize our baby registry and start cleaning out the nursery so that we can begin painting and buying/moving her furniture in there!

Have a great week!

21 Week Bumpdate

Thursday, September 8, 2016

Is it almost Friday? I know this was a short week but I am totally ready for the weekend…how about you? I can't believe I am over half way there…January will be here before we know it!

How far along? 21 weeks today!

Baby's size? Baby Bok Choy

Gender: Still a sweet baby girl and trust me…that was re-confirmed last week during our 20 week scan!

Total weight gain/loss: Still a little unsure but roughly 6.5-7 pounds. My doctor says that's a great number to be around because I will be gaining the majority of my weight during the third trimester and she only wants me to gain a total of around 25 pounds. We'll see if that happens :)

Maternity clothes? No. I'm very tempted to just bust out my maternity pants and sweaters…come on fall!!

Sleep: I've slept really well this week! It is SO hard for me to wake up in the mornings…but I guess it's always been like that for me. I am NOT a morning person.

Best moment this week: Passing my 3 hour long glucose test!! I'm going to dedicate a full post to this so stay tuned. And yes, I failed my 1 hour long test…majorly

Miss Anything? A cold turkey sandwich, spicy tuna roll and white pants (post Labor Day)

Movement: They are still butterfly flutters but it feels so weird but I love it.

Food cravings: I've been craving takeout Chinese food and once I found out I passed my glucose test, we called the nearest takeout to fuel my cravings…and Andrew's!

Anything making you queasy or sick? Feeling good! Tired as usual but no other odd symptoms.

Symptoms: I can't complain! Although, I was at a boutique tonight and was trying to explain what I was looking for and couldn't get the words out and totally apologized and blamed it on pregnancy brain.

Looking forward to: The first Clemson home game is this Saturday. I love prepping for the games and  seeing some of our best friends! Also…we need to start decorating baby girl's room so I am looking forward to putting ideas together!

Have a great weekend!!

20 Week Bumpdate

Monday, September 5, 2016

Happy Labor Day, friends! I hope everyone had a wonderful and long weekend! We are back in town from Auburn and I am totally not ready for the week to begin! I am a few days late but here is my 20 week bump date!

Please excuse the work attire…I couldn't get the energy to change into anything other than my pajamas!

How far along? 20 weeks plus a few days

Baby's size? A Belgian Endive

Gender: Girl

Total weight gain/loss: I went to the OB last Thursday for our 20 week anatomy scan and she said that I've gained a total of 6 pounds thus far. So, I'm not sure if I've lost a few pounds or if my scale has just been wrong the whole time.

Maternity clothes? Not yet!

Sleep: I spent 3 out of 7 nights in a hotel last week/this past weekend and I had a difficult time falling asleep. I've been tossing and turning a lot more recently but I'm not uncomfortable.

Best moment this week: Definitely seeing our baby girl for our 20 week scan. As most of you know, this is the longest ultrasound (and might have been the last…tears!!) but the doctor said she was perfect. Her words, not ours. She is in the 70th percentile so she's already on the bigger side but doing really well! We also found out that she's currently breech, but the doctor wasn't worried at all because there is still so much time for her to turn.

Miss Anything? Carbs. More on this later.

Movement: Yes! I am finally feeling tiny flutters and it honestly took me a little while to figure out that it was her, but it's the sweetest feeling. I can't wait for Andrew to feel her move around. I typically feel her the most when I'm laying down…like right now!

Food cravings: Not really this week.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Other than being really tired this week, I felt great. I haven't had much heartburn thank goodness, and my headaches have seen to subside.

Symptoms: Does being tired count as a symptom? Ha.

Looking forward to: The first Clemson home game! Andrew and I traveled to Auburn this past weekend to see the Tigers play and we had the best time! I am totally wiped (we did a ton of walking) but it was so worth it.

I hope everyone has a great, short week!

19 Week Bumpdate

Saturday, August 27, 2016

Hey friends! I've totally been slack this week on blogging and I am a little late on my bumpdate, but all I've wanted to do after work is to come home and sleep!

How far along? 19 weeks (a few days late)

Baby's size? A zesty zucchini.

Gender: Girl

Total weight gain/loss: 8 pounds.

Maternity clothes? Nope. A lot of them have been purchased but I'm still rockin' all of my non-maternity pants, shirts, dresses.

Sleep: I haven't had any problems so far! I do have a snuggle so I'm wondering when I will need to start using it.

Best moment this week: Andrew told me that he could finally see a little bump! You can't really tell in person (especially with clothes on), but I think this was the first week he noticed it. Also, I started our registries this week and I will be sharing some of that soon and getting your input!

Miss Anything? Spicy tuna rolls.

Movement: I don't think so, but I do get pains/motion in my stomach so I'm not sure if that is her moving or just stuff going on down there…any ideas?

Food cravings: Still loving grape crystal light but I haven't really had a ton of cravings.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Holy heartburn. It really starts in the late afternoon and I haven't really taken any tums yet because I wanted to check with my doctor first, but it's been so bad that it doesn't go away until I fall asleep at night. Hoping this means one thing…that baby E will have a lot of hair!

Symptoms: See above.

Looking forward to: Our 20 week anatomy scan this coming week and heading to Auburn for the Clemson football game! I never thought the time would come and I am so excited! Although, I will be DD and the only wife tagging along…but I'm okay with that as long as I get to see the Tiger's play!

18 Week Bumpdate

Thursday, August 18, 2016

Photo taken by Olive and Tate while at Pebble Beach

How far along? 18 weeks today.

Baby's size? The size of a sweet potato…and I can't say I've been craving those. Whoops.

Gender: Sweet baby GIRL. See our gender reveal here

Total weight gain/loss: Roughly 7 pounds but my belly is beginning to poke out a little!

Maternity clothes? Not yet. My mother in law, sister in law and I are going maternity shopping this weekend so I'm excited about that!

Sleep: Sleeping well but wake up a little sore.

Best moment this week: Going to California for a quick vacation. Hoping to do a re-cap soon.

Miss Anything? Still a cold turkey sandwich and red wine. We went to Napa while in California and let's just say that it wasn't easy watching everyone drink wine in freaking wine country.

Movement: No movements but stretching is definitely taking place.

Food cravings: Anything pickled … pickles, pickled okra, etc. Oh, and grape crystal light. Obsessed.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Not this week.

Symptoms: I am so itchy! Mainly my belly because it is starting to grow but I've been lathering up with cocoa butter and oil every morning and evening so that is helping. Still have afternoon heartburn.

Looking forward to: Heading to Charlotte this weekend to "pamper" myself aka maternity shop, mani/pedi and totally veg out with my MIL and SIL. They are so sweet to sweep me away so that I can enjoy a relaxing weekend that is all about me.

Stephanie was gracious enough to host our gender reveal at her house so be sure to check out her post with pictures of the party!

17 Week Bumpdate

Wednesday, August 10, 2016

Hey y'all! I hope you're having a great week so far! I wanted to post my weekly bumpdate before leaving on vacation so I hope you enjoy! I'll be taking the rest of the week off but will be back next week.

How far along? I will be 17 weeks tomorrow!

Baby's size? The size of a dill pickle...and man, have I been loving pickles lately! I can thank Meg for getting me hooked on the Oh Snap hottie bites.

Gender: Sweet baby GIRL. See our gender reveal here

Total weight gain/loss: Still in the 5-7 pound range. My weight definitely fluctuates!

Maternity clothes? Nope. I ended up buying quite a few fall pieces from the Nordstrom Sale so I'm excited for those...lots of baggy sweaters and leggings!

Sleep: The same. No vivid dreams yet.

Best moment this week: Celebrating our baby girl this past weekend with family and closest friends.

Miss Anything? A cold turkey sandwich.

Movement: Nope. I am hoping that comes soon!

Food cravings: Fried okra. So random but it is my favorite vegetable. I made a large bowl for dinner last night and had rice and black beans to go with it. It's so simple but so yummy.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Raw chicken, gross.

Symptoms: I have a serious head cold right now (not pregnancy related) but I have felt terrible for the past few days. And, I've started getting heartburn lately and it's driving me crazy. I thought the second trimester was supposed to be easier than the first?

Looking forward to: We are headed to California with Andrew, Stephanie and Justin! We leave bright and early tomorrow morning. It will be nice to have a few days off since I'm not really taking a week long vacation this summer. Follow me on snapchat @ashleyceck

Gender Reveal...It's A…

Sunday, August 7, 2016

We are so thankful for all of our family and friends who came out to celebrate in our special day finding out whether Baby E is a boy or girl.

I did a gender prediction on Friday and the score was very close. Boy won by 1 point.

I'm not going to lie. Prior to getting pregnant, I always thought I'd have a girl first. I can't exactly explain why I had that feeling but as soon as I got pregnant, that feeling changed. I had a gut feeling it was a boy. Easy first trimester, craving salty foods, everything pointed to boy for me.

What you've all been waiting for….Baby E is a …

We are beyond thrilled and maybe still in a little shock that we are having a sweet baby GIRL. I know that this little girl is going to completely steal Andrew's (and my) heart and that she will totally think he hung the moon. I am so excited to watch them together and see Andrew's heart melt as we both swoon over her.

Let all of the bows and tutu shopping begin! Andrew actually bought me a gift card to a local clothing store in Greenville for our anniversary and we woke up this morning and he suggested we go pick out some clothes for Baby E this morning. That just lit up my heart.

We received our first present yesterday that Stephanie presented us with…her first custom Willow Crowns piece made by my dear friend, Megan. Thank you ladies for her sweet gift! She can't wait to be a loyal customer!

Thank you again to Stephanie and Justin for hosting our special party!
