Thank y'all so much for all of the Instagram, Facebook and blog comments yesterday! I definitely felt the love and support, and this is a perfect example as to why I wanted to start blogging. For y'all to get the chance to get to know me better, I thought I would join Home of Malone's and East Coast Chick's linkup for Thoughts for Thursday.
You'll never guess
... that I'm all of these 10 things
One
I am a die hard Clemson fan.
OK, so maybe you already knew this. I grew up going to football games with family and friends and knew that the small yet beautiful town was a perfect fit for me. We try to visit as much as we can and can't wait for football season to arrive!

Y'all want to know something funny? I graduated with a biological science and chemistry (with an emphasis in pharmacy) degree, and now I sell toilet seats for a living. If I had known this was going to be my "calling," then I can assure you that I wouldn't have busted my butt for four, very long and endless hours of studying years. Needless to say, I am very happy in my career, and I am also not having to pay medical school student loans right now, so I guess that's a plus?
Three
I could spend countless hours in Sephora.
OK, so maybe not another surprise to you, but I just had to put that out there. I could just wander around and lose track of time by swatching, sampling and spritzing in this store. One of my favorite hobbies, if you can call it a hobby, is beauty. I will be posting a lot about this, so if this interests you, look out for it!
Four
I put on two of everything beauty related in the mornings.
Two different types/shades of foundation. Two concealers (one for dark circles and other for highlighting). Two bronzers (one for contouring and other for bronzing face). Two different types of mascara. Two lip products (balm or lipstick and a gloss)

I enjoy picking out difficult recipes.
Does anyone else do this or am I the only crazy one? I will be posting more about meal planning and favorite recipes in the future, but cooking is something I truly enjoy. I'm not sure if it's my ego or self gratification, but it is so satisfying after completing a dish that is difficult but will make your husband go back for seconds!

This is a little personal, but has had a significant impact on my life, so I thought I'd share it.
My house was set on fire when I was twelve years old. On purpose. Not a typical electrical or accidental fire, but my next door neighbor (that was twelve years old himself), set on fire. My parents divorced six short months after that, and my life has never been the same. I sit here and think back on every single item we lost, pictures and all...but realize that it has only made me stronger. My parents are both now happily married, and I have a different outlook on life that maybe I wouldn't have had. Enjoy life because you never know what tomorrow will bring.

Seven
I enjoy playing golf.
I enjoy playing golf.
Growing up, my daddy bought me golf lessons, and I always enjoyed hitting balls at the range with him. My husband is a wonderful golfer, and I occasionally will play with him. He bought me a golf club set last year, and of course, a matching wardrobe. Priorities, people. Whether it's meeting at the range after a long day or playing nine holes on a Sunday afternoon, this is a great bonding experience for the two of us.
Eight
My husband has better taste than me.
No, I'm not talking about food, because honestly, he is one of the pickiest eaters I know, but he does shop for me. Whether he is picking out new Tory Burch sandals or a cocktail dress from White House Black Market, I can always guarantee I will like what he picks out for me. I will sometimes give him guidance, but he has been known to go out on his own for several birthdays, Christmas or "just because" occasions.

Nine
My husband's closet is cleaner and more organized than mine.
This might go hand-in-hand with number eight. His closet is so tidy that whenever I just throw clothes or shoes on my side (and you can't see the floor), he gets frustrated. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing more than I love than a clean house. However, if I have to do the cleaning, it's not always going to be perfect. I love the idea of it being perfect, but who has time for that?

I would totally be content with never having a dog/pet.
{As I typed this, my body gradually got lower in my seat}. Don't shoot me. I am not your typical, normal human being, and I totally understand that I might be the only person in the world that is like this. Growing up, my family always had a Boykin Spaniel, and I loved her. I really did, but I didn't enjoy the responsibilities that came along with having a dog. Since that was a large commitment for a small girl like me, my parents bought me a bird. Why they thought that was a good idea, I will never understand. Nonetheless, they wanted to make their little girl happy. Long story short, bird didn't last long. Lastly, I am deathly allergic to pet dander aka cats. I know this sounds dramatic, but you don't understand. Runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes...you name it! I am sure I will be more open to the idea once we have children, but as of right now, I will selfishly enjoy my scratch free leather couch and spot free white linen chairs.

I hope y'all enjoyed getting to know me a little better, and be sure to check back in tomorrow because I will be joining Newlyweds North, Home Sweet Ruby and Happily Ever Parker for my first Can't Live Without It linkup!

The next time that we're both in the same city, I need another trip to Sephora with you!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the blogging world, lady!! I could spend forever in Sephora – I can never just walk right in and walk right out. I really want to try to get into golf this summer – I is such a great hobby I think! These are some great little facts – nice to know some more about you!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from the linkup - love your blog and welcome to the blogging world! You will love it!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what recipes you share with us since you like picking the hard ones!! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of pets either! I had rabbits growing up and they were not fun to take care of. Plus all the fur that comes with the animals:) welcome to the blogging world!
ReplyDeleteYayy!! So glad you have your own blog (the design looks great) and I loved learning more about you! Let me just say.. I'm #10 all the way so don't be alone! Some people love animals more than humans, but I'm just not that way. I almost freak out when dogs jump on me because I feel like their sharp claws are gonna rip my clothes to shreds haha (a bit dramatic, but still). So… I know how it is.. and it's perfectly okay to be selfish and keep your house and clothes neat and hair-free!!
